Eurail raises over $400,000 in charity campaign

Utrecht, 23 October, 2019

Eurail raises over $400,000 in charity campaign for Make-A-Wish® and Doctors Without Borders

Eurail, the company behind Eurail train passes, raised over $400,000 in their first campaign for Make-A-Wish® and Médecins Sans Frontières/Doctors Without Borders (MSF). Eurail announced partnerships with both charities in June followed by a four-week sales campaign in which the company and its distributors donated $16.80 (15 euros) for every Eurail Global Pass sold. When purchasing a Eurail Global Pass, travelers also received a 5 percent discount on their purchase.

Together with its global distributors and customers, Eurail raised $165,000 for Médecins Sans Frontières/Doctors Without Borders (MSF) and raised $100,000 for Make-A-Wish International to help grant life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses. An additional $150,000 was raised in the US only for Make-A-Wish America. Members of the Eurail team officially handed over the check to Make-A-Wish during the “Adopt a Wish” workshop at the Eurail headquarters in Utrecht, The Netherlands.

We could not be more grateful to Eurail patrons who have come together to transform more children’s lives, one wish at a time,” said Michel Rudolphie president and CEO of Make-A-Wish International. “We rely completely on donations from individuals and corporations, like those generated by the Eurail community, who are fundamental to providing more children with a lifechanging wish, which can help them build physical and emotional strength needed to fight a critical illness.”

It is fantastic that together with our community of Eurail travelers, distributors, and Eurail colleagues we can contribute to the beautiful work of Doctors Without Borders and Make-A-Wish. We are eager to continue to help both charities in the coming three months to make a difference in the life of those who need it most.” said Carlo Boselli, General Manager of Eurail.

From October 24-29 Eurail will give travelers another opportunity to transform lives by purchasing a Eurail Global Pass at a 5 percent discount. Eurail will again donate $16.80 (15 euros) for each Pass sold in that week. A similar campaign will run on Giving Tuesday, December 3.

A Eurail Pass gives travellers access to rail networks in 31 European countries. Passes can be purchased up to 11 months in advance at www.eurail.com and via a worldwide network of Eurail General Sales Agents.
